It's sad.

St. Josephs church in Jacksonville Florida was vandalized this weekend. Vandals destroyed eight statues, valued at tens of thousands of dollars.

The Church in Ireland used to have a prayer: "From the fury of the Norsemen, O Lord, deliver us." I Propose a new prayer for the church in America: "From the mischief of the ignorantly thuggish, O Lord, deliver us."

One of the parishes in my hometown had a beautiful all-white scene of the Children of Fatima and Our Lady near the busiest street that ran thru town. A little garden of sorts.

One night some vandals poured RED paint all over The Blessed Mother's statue!

There it sat for at least a week until white painted could safely be painted over it.

I was a teen at the time and even some of my non-catholic friends were offended.

I never found out "why" or "who" did such a thing.
